2022 Global Reading Challenge
Scottie Community, I hope you will give a round of applause to our 73 fourth and fifth graders who participated in this year’s Global Reading Challenge. Even though we couldn’t meet in one location, we had a really fun in-house event that spread over two sessions. A big shout out to the 4th and 5th grade team for hosting in their classrooms. It was a close event and the Spirit Readers were our McDonald champions.
This past Friday, the Spirit Readers participated in a semifinal event against 7 other schools. This year each team participated from their own schools. This was an amazing group of 5th graders. Even though they were not the overall winners, they were supportive and worked like a team, even when the pressure was on. I was so glad I got to be there to cheer them on.
Goals for the Global Reading challenge are to encourage students to read different book genres, develop team skills, and most importantly have FUN. Thank you 4th and 5th graders for reaching these goals.
