“Thad Talks” a DLI (Dual Language Immersion) Event

Parent Action Requested: Our Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program needs your support more than ever in order to stay relevant during the current looming SPS budget cuts.

How to Support:  We need at least 30 parents/caregivers to RSVP and show up in person to this Thursday’s DLI event in the McDonald International School cafeteria.  Although a virtual option will be available, the in-person attendance numbers are important in showing how invested our community is in keeping the Dual Language Programs relevant and funded.

*** This event is a joint Dual Language Immersion Event in collaboration with John Stanford International School featuring Dr. Thad Williams, program manager of Dual language, world language, and international education at Seattle Public Schools

Date/Time: Thursday March 23rd, 6:15PM-7:30PM

Location: McDonald International School Cafeteria (Virtual option)

When NPR has TED Talks, we have Thad Talks! Join us to learn more about DLI with Dr Thad Williams. What is the landscape of Dual Language program? What is going well and what are some challenges? What advocacy is needed? What ideas or expectations do caregivers of JSIS and McDonald have for DLI?

Please RSVP so we can estimate a headcount for in-person. Children are welcome and there will be a designated area in the cafeteria for children to do activities yet no childcare will be provided. Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Thad Williams (he/him) is a program manager of Dual language, world language, and international education at Seattle Public Schools, since 2019.
