Interim Principal Kathy Jolly - December 8, 2017

Dear McDonald International Families,

I am currently assigned as the interim principal at McDonald while Principal Michelle Goldberg is on maternity leave. I started on November 13 and have already met many of you in the hallways, at the Coffee Chat and at PTA meetings.  I want to thank everyone for such a warm welcome!  I have also visited all the classrooms to meet your students and teachers.  This is a great school community and I am excited to be a part of it.

I have been with the Seattle Public Schools for over 44 years.  I was a classroom teacher and a specialist at Beacon Hill, Roxhill, and Genesee Hill Elementary Schools.  I was also a STAR mentor for several years working with new teachers in 28 schools throughout the district.  I received my administrator credentials and became the principal at Laurelhurst Elementary for 10 years until my retirement in 2014.  Since then, I have been on assignment as an interim principal or administrator at many different schools including View Ridge, Lafayette, Gatewood, Cascadia, Broadview Thompson and now McDonald International School.

I look forward to learning all about the international program and to working closely with you, the staff, and students. Many of the students have already begun trying to teach me a word or two in Spanish or Japanese!  They are receiving such a great education at McDonald International.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Go Scottie Dogs!

Kathy Jolly
