Special Announcement - June 9, 2017

Dear McDonald International Students and Families,

While I typically send out my newsletter every other week, I wanted to send out some exciting news that I felt could not wait until next week to be shared. We are thrilled to welcome Patrick Brown as McDonald International’s new .5 Assistant Principal.

“I am Patrick Brown, and I am honored to join the John Stanford and McDonald communities as Assistant Principal.  As a dual language educator, I am passionate about the work we do to create bilingual and culturally-competent global citizens and I am excited to work with you to support our students on that journey.

For the last two years I have served as Curriculum Developer for Additive Bilingual Programs and 9th grade International Spanish Academy teacher in the Bellevue School District while working on my administrative credential at WWU.

Prior moving back to Washington, I was a middle school Spanish Immersion Social Studies and Spanish Language Arts teacher in Cottage Grove and Minnetonka, Minnesota.  I also worked with other dual language programs across the state to provide teacher training and support in dual language and international education.

I earned my BA in Spanish and Political Science from WWU and my MA in European Studies from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.  I later attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where I earned my teaching credential.

I look forward to meeting you and learning about what makes John Stanford and McDonald amazing places!”

Patrick will begin in Seattle Public Schools on July 1 and we will be working together all summer, so feel free to stop by and introduce yourself to Patrick.

I hope you have a great weekend and as always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.

Michelle Goldberg
