Linda Oakley, 4th Grade Humanities

I grew up in central London and have lived in the United States since 1992. I began teaching as a second career after a stay-home period with my twin sons (who are high school seniors for the 2018-19 school year). My prior career was in Public Health Seattle where I was a program manager in the HIV/AIDS program. I am a huge data geek and love to share interesting statistics with students. I have a passion for teaching reading and writing, having learned in my own life the transformative power of words and language. I want my students to continually strive toward specificity in word choices and to be able to write with confidence. I am a cat lover and recently adopted a pair of unusually large black cats named Thor and Loki.
