Aubree Bixman, 5th Grade Humanities

This year I will be embarking on another great adventure in inspiring, learning, and questioning. It is my goal that I take away just as much at the end of the year as each of the members in our fourth grade community. I hope to continue to foster the nature of curiosity and a passion that helps scholars to navigate their own learning paths. I am eager to partner with you this coming year to provide the best fourth grade learning experience for your child.

I am thrilled to be returning to McDonald this year! In the past I have taught fourth and fifth grades at West Seattle Elementary and third grade in East Lansing, Michigan before coming to McDonald. I am ecstatic to be working with such a strong, supportive, and collaborative team. I am sure it will be a wonderful environment for me to share my passion for teaching and love of learning.

I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts from Michigan State University. GO GREEN! I am an eager learner and actively seek opportunities to engage in to improve my teaching practice.

I am crafty by nature. In my spare time you will often find me splattered with paint and up to my elbows in glue. I have a passion for traveling and look forward to any chance I get to sneak away, whether for a long weekend on the coast, or a month away in Europe. I also enjoy reading, yoga, snuggling my black lab, Baci, adventures around the city, and camping with my family on the coast of Lake Michigan. This year I will also be busy tasting cake, buried in flowers, and budgeting money as my partner and I plan for our wedding in August.

I am looking forward to a year full of wonder, excitement, and loads of learning.
